Elizabeth Mulcahy (Chartered Physiotherapist)
Graduated with a BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy from University of West of England, Bristol in 1997. She completed an MSc in Sports Medicine in Trinity College Dublin in 2002 and in 2003 obtained a Certificate in Orthopaedic & Manual Therapy from Curtain University in Perth, Australia. Elizabeth worked in the hospital setting and Dublin Spine & Sports Surgery Clinic before setting up South Tipperary Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic in 2002. Elizabeth is a trained Stott Pilates instructor and has a special interest in sports and spinal injuries, orthotics and deep dry needling. Elizabeth has many years of clinical experience working with sports teams and has travelled a lot in the past with Ireland’s elite rowers and hockey players. Her personal interests include horse riding and mountain running, and she successfully completed the Ballyhoura mountain marathon this year…27 miles up/down mountains in wind and rain!!
Ann Bates (Chartered Physiotherapist)
Graduated with a BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy from Trinity College, Dublin in 1996. In 2000, she completed a Diploma in Manipulative Therapy from Auckland University, NZ. Ann qualified as an Acupuncturist in 2005 following a three-year course and subsequent work experience in Shuguang Hospital in Shanghai. Ann worked in different private practises in Ireland, UK, Carribean, Australia and NZ before joining South Tipperary Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic as a partner in 2002. In addition to the above qualifications, Ann has postgraduate training in Occupational health and ergonomics, orthotics and has a special interest in acupuncture and nutrition. Ann also specializes in Womens Health and urinary incontinence. Her personal interests include competitive sea swimming, triathlons and running. She is a member of the Kilkenny AC and Kilkenny Tri Club, has completed a half marathon and Dublin City marathon in 2016
Frances Mulcahy (Chartered Physiotherapist)
Graduated with a BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy from University of Wales College of Medicine, Cardiff in 2002. She completed an MSc in Sports Physiotherapy from UCL, London in 2006 and PgC in Acupuncture in 2011 from University College Dublin. Frances has further postgraduate training in Orthotics and Occupational Health and is a qualified APPI Pilates instructor. Frances was awarded with CPSEM level 3 accreditation in sports physiotherapy due to her vast experience working with different high level sports teams. She has been a partner at South Tipperary Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic since 2006 and has a special interest in sports and spinal injuries, orthotics, vertigo and vestibular rehabilitation. Frances has vast experience working with sports including GAA, rugby and hockey and has worked as physio to Munster development rugby teams U18-U20 since 2009. Her personal interests include horse riding and running. She is a member of the Clonmel AC and has twice completed the Dublin City marathon. She has also recently competed in triathlons and adventure races.
Sophia Willgress (Chartered Physiotherapist)
Graduated with a BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy from Keele University in 2009. She completed an MSc Physiotherapy in 2013. Sophia has since specialised in Musculoskeletal and Occupational Health ad joined our team in March 2023. Previously, Sophia worked on the in-house medical team at Toyota, UK since 2015 where her focus was on injury prevention and absence management of work and non work related issues. During this time Sophia was also lead physio for Women’s rugby and assisting physio with Loughborough lightning Netball. Sophia enjoys swimming, cycling, running, hiking and ‘ any way to challenge your body physically’. Sophia’s more recent area of expertise includes Mummy MOT.
Rosanne Kelly (Massage Therapist)
Rosanne qualified in 2017 with Level 3 and 4 ITEC Sports Massage and Injury Therapy from IMST, Limerick. She has vast experience working with sports injuries, match cover and general musculoskeletal problems and is a very popular member of our team here at South Tipp Physio. Her main areas of interest are deep tissue massage and lymphatic drainage. Rosanne works very closely with our Chartered Physios providing maintenance care for our patients with chronic pain and massage to help provide pain relief during conservative management of joint osteoarthritis.
